our team

Nicole Wike, LPC, CAADC

Chief Executive Officer

Nicole is the founder and owner of Wike Counseling Services and has been working in the mental health field for over 20 years. She chose to become a therapist because of her desire to help people navigate life’s challenges and because of the profound impact mental health and substance use issues can have on individuals and families. Like many therapists, her own experiences have shaped her understanding of mental health, resilience, and healing, and inspired her to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Nicole earned her master’s degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from McDaniel College. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy.

Nicole believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy and recognizes the importance of treating each client as an individual with unique needs. She draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients develop healthy coping strategies and make positive changes in their lives. She views therapy as a joint effort focused not only on addressing concerns, but also on improving overall well-being. Treatment is individualized and mindful of each client’s goals, background, and lived experience.

Her passion lies in providing therapy for adolescents and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Nicole has experience working with teens, adults, couples, families, individuals with substance use concerns, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.

What Nicole enjoys most about being a therapist is fostering resilience and promoting healing. She believes we all have the capacity to change and grow, and that sometimes we need someone to help guide us through that transformation. Outside of work, Nicole cherishes time with her family, reading, music, and spending time in nature. She finds joy in simple moments like watching sunrises and sunsets, experiencing rainstorms, and feeling connected to the natural world.
